Cinq Raisons to Live in Mumbai

The Dream City, An Alpha World City and the melting pot of many communities and cultures. This is how we Mumbaikars know are city. Which always repays our faith in it by making our life easy here. Be it by introducing the mono- and metro- rail or by introducing mobile railway ticketing or by giving opportunities to everybody.
So as we approach the New Year, I present to you 5 reasons why Mumbai is the Dream City for me and it remaining population.

1. Survival Of The Fittest
“It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change.”
-Charles Darwin
This quote by Charles Darwin indicates that the fittest person need not be an Einstein or a Heavy-weight but a person who can adapt. And Mumbai just teaches you that, cause life here is challenging, new difficulties are faced by everyone, everyday be it an Ambani or a street urchin. Therefore, living in Mumbai is a test, which you have to give every day, that helps in deciding whether you can adapt or not, and whether you are a survivor. This point might sound negative to many, but actually, it shows that you have the spirit to face life head on, and overcome every trouble, riddle or deadline put in front of you. And therefore we Mumbaikars are given respect on the global front.

2. Unity In Diversity
Over the years Mumbai has become a hub for finance, entertainment, culture, arts & crafts, food and tourism. Due to this people from across the world come here, bringing with them their traditions, food, technology and their ideals. These new beliefs soon find a place in this vast city and merge into our traditions. This city, therefore, has a big heart. Be it a foreigner or an Indian villager, it will accept all. And thus maintaining a UNITY IN DIVERSITY.

3. Opportunity
“Ability is of little account without opportunity.” -Napoleon
Like Napoleon Bonaparte has correctly said, thriving without opportunity is impossible. Would Lionel Messi be at this status if Football Club Barcelona had not given him an opportunity? Same goes for all the achievers, they would have not been here, had somebody not placed faith in them and given them an opportunity. And therefore opportunity is a very important step towards success. And in Mumbai a dreamer has opportunities in every field he/she wants to succeed. All that has to be done is search. And you might just become the next Messi.

4. Aesthetic Beauty
The never ending sea, the western Ghats, the rivers and the flora and fauna are just the tip of an iceberg cause Mumbai is so much more than that, be it the technologically advanced and bright city or the ancient, musty and yet exciting caves, Mumbai redefines beauty! Be it architecture, which is a blend of Gothic Revival, Indo-Saracenic, Art Deco, and other contemporary styles, or be it technology, as Mumbai is one of the most technologically advanced cities in India. Therefore many tourists come here to just the see the beauty and take with them an artistic image of an ideal city.

5. Titles
One thing we all Mumbaikars love about our city are the titles. A person living in Mumbai, lives in the commercial, financial and entertainment capital of India. It also houses one of the biggest stock exchanges in the world. Our city is also house to major Bollywood production houses. Many famous entities like the superstar of this millennia, Mr. Amitabh Bachan, the Master Blaster, Mr. Sachin Tendulkar, the King Khan, Mr. Shahrukh Khan and we have a never ending list. So there are bragging rights reserved for all Mumbaikars, when it comes to talking about our city.

These 5 points prove why we call our city “The Dream City”. The city offers us everything. No man goes hungry here, even if he is poor. This city alone, is like a family. Loving and feeding us like a mother, protecting and sheltering us like a father and also has fun with us, like our siblings do. This homeliness is why everybody comes here. No man will be rejected a place here, whatever his status or origin maybe. So, dear reader, this Dream city is welcoming you with open arms, embrace it and fulfil all your dreams.
